stephen_fri._nite_la_entrada.jpgBlessed be the name of Jesus - who alone can save us from our sins, heal our broken bodies and rescue us out of darkness into His glorious light!  This is the testimony from the two night crusade in La Entrada.

Maybe it was the hunger of the people to experience the power of God or maybe it was the desire of Father God to touch them with something fresh and wonderful - or maybe both!  All I know is nothing compares to the presence of King Jesus and watching Him pour out His power and compassion on people.

Distribution
So many stories of divine opportunities but one team went the extra mile (literally) to take supplies and share Jesus with a remote village.  What the pastor said was it was at the top of the mountain – and only reachable by hiking.  What he didn’t say was to reach it the team would have to climb to the top of the adjacent peak, descend to the valley below, cross over a river then hike to the top of the mountain!  It was tiring and time consuming but they did it.  And the amazing thing was the people there didn’t know anything about Jesus – or the biblical stories like Adam and Eve.  So the Lord used this “extreme team” to start something for the kingdom of God in a place that would otherwise have gone unnoticed.

Youth | Children Rallies
Despite a rain and lightning storm, 2000 teenagers showed up at the bull ring to hear the Gospel and enjoy a concert.  The seats were covered so the people did not get drenched.  After tossing soccer balls and glowing bracelets into the crowd, Pastor Josh shared a powerful message that resulted in hundreds of young people raising their hands to make a decision to live for Jesus.

Hundreds of kids and parents turned up Saturday afternoon for puppets, dramas, songs, candy, bikes and much more!  Pastor Mike presented the Gospel and many asked Jesus to come into their hearts.

Business | Pastors | Women Conferences
The business leaders and executives meeting attracted people of varied backgrounds.  Bruce and Alan shared about being a light in the community – and gave out flashlights with “Be the Light” inscribed on them in Spanish.  But the best part was many of them came forward to ask Jesus to light up their own lives!

The pastor’s conference drew nearly 50 senior pastors plus a couple hundred church leaders.  Pastor Caesar from Guatemala and Pastor Phil from Texas shared and prayed over their churches and families.  The women’s conference was packed!  Hundreds filled the main room and many more poured into an overflow room to hear a word from the Lord.  It was powerful!

Mid-week Services | Parade
The team ministered in 8 services over two nights.  In one meeting, the team prayed for a lady having colon surgery later in the week.  On Friday night, we learned that she turned up at the doctors office and they sent her home because they could not find anything wrong with her!

On Thursday afternoon hundreds of people took to the street to march for Jesus.  Unlike previous parades, this one started off somber as the people had a prayer focus for the city.  But by the time they reached the site of the crusade, the people were singing and waving their banners for everyone to see.  It was exciting to see the joy and anticipation of the people.

Intercessors | Choir
Over 200 people came on Tuesday night for the intercessors only service.  Steve, Nita, Vic and I all ministered in the service and laid hands on the intercessors.  The power of God fell in that place and they all started marching around the room with the Honduras flag.  And when the electricity went out, they just opened up their cell phones for light and kept marching and praying!  It was amazing!  …  Then they came hours early on Friday and Saturday to pray – and prayed throughout the crusade meetings.  What a tremendous testimony of passion and devotion to Jesus!

Over 400 people sang in the crusade choir coming from villages as far away as 2 hours by bus.  They sang their heart out to Jesus and it challenged everyone to do the same.

Crusade | Miracles
About 20,000 people per night flooded the area for the crusade.  People crowded the soccer field in front of the stage and wrapped around the trailers on which the choir stood.  They sat on the roof of their trucks, packed the balconies of nearby houses, listened on adjoining streets (even though they could not see the stage) and some even climbed up one of the hills so they could look down on the crusade from above.  It was so moving to see the hunger in the hearts of the people.  The result: an explosion of intensity and power that resulted in thousands of people saved and many mighty miracles.  This was also the first time we saw people from the hospitals brought to the crusade – and the Lord touched some of them too!  Many people bound by the demonic found freedom in Jesus and the tears of one lady will remain with me forever.  She was so beautiful after such violent torment – and it reminded me again of just how marvelous Jesus is!

Maybe the most amazing things for us was watching the Lord bring in $27,000 in the final 9 days (before we left for Honduras) to meet the needs of the crusade budget.  It is not easy asking for money – but it is because of what we see the Lord do in cities like La Entrada, Honduras that we ask for your help.  Many thanks to all of you for praying, giving and believing – may God bless you for having such a huge heart for missions and evangelism!
